Product Details

A round porcelain light switch with a fat button that sits on the wall surface, in Lucedo glaze by Katy Paty. The cable runs on the outside of the wall, so walls and ceilings do not need to be chased, and porcelain cable glands lead it neatly into the switch. Choose the mechanism your circuit needs, and black, brass or stainless steel screws.

Why You'll Love It

  • No chasing: the fitting and cable sit on the wall surface, so brick, stone, plaster and tiled walls stay intact.
  • Hand-glazed porcelain whose colour is UV and dust resistant, matched to the Katy Paty cable glands and junction boxes.
  • Long guarantees: 50 years on the porcelain and 10 years on the mechanism.

FAQ

Q: What else do I need for a surface-mounted installation?
A: Exposed cable, a porcelain cable gland where the cable enters the switch, and porcelain junction boxes where cable runs meet. Your electrician fixes the switch directly to the wall surface, so no back box is needed.

Q: Which switch mechanism should I choose?
A: Choose the one your circuit needs: single-pole (1) for a light switched from one place, alternate (6) for two-way switching from two places, and cross (7) for an intermediate switch between them. Bell, dimmer M and timer versions are also available. A wiring diagram can be downloaded from the product page, and your electrician can confirm the right option.

Q: Can it go on a tiled or stone wall?
A: Yes. It screws onto the surface, so you only drill fixing holes; nothing is cut into the wall.

Q: How long will it take to arrive?
A: Each switch is assembled to order, so allow 3–4 weeks.
